Life Map
Autobiographical Narrative
My life will become...
“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us”- Ralph Waldo Emerson. Doesn’t matter what’s in your life it matters what you do with it. Knowing what I’m not superior at and what I dislike, will be easier for me to know what to look for and where to head to in my future life goals. I believe everyone has dreams and goals set for their life in their future, and everyone should take the time to think about their future and plan it out.
Coming from a small town, Lindsay, everyone knows you. Growing up with the same people, new people come in but they last here. Starting preschool or kindergarten together and always waiting for recese to come because we all wanted to play in the new swing sets. Getting into little arguments with our friends but end up happy again because the teacher will always find away to make us talk again. Having the same in the same class for seven years in elementary. At the end of the day it was always fun because we will all go outside for p.e and play kickball basketball or have a competition with the other sixth grade class and play soccer and always having the teachers as our goalies. When we all left to Jarvey it was so confusing to the first two weeks. It was always fun when we had school dances. When the end of the year came is was hard for us because we thought we were going to stay there but they wanted to make more schools for the students and our eighth grade we had to go back to our elementary schools.
Then coming back to a big school with bigger students then us, High School. I had many mixed emotions, happy, scared, excited, antious. Since I was freshmen I always got booed all the time. The upper classes will always say things like, “ you can’t cut line you freshmen” “you can’t do this you're a freshmen” they would always make me less but that does bother me because sooner or later they would graduate. Now I’m a senior at high school. It was a tough road and it still is. Having to finish all these classes and having to finish the ones that i haven’t finished. Also figuring out what college is best for me on what I want to do. This really becomes stressful keeping up with everything I need to do and clubs. My main resource right now is FFA because I know that will help me in my future.
Like everyone else in this small town, I want to leave and make something of myself, help my family. My family came here for the American dream and make a better life for them but since they didn’t have the change they tell me and my brothers to take advantage of it. Going to a university has always been my big dream because I want to become a veterinarian. Helping animals is always good to do because there is not a lot of help for them. Every year there is less help and more animals hurt or sick.
Knowing that I’ll be helping my family, making a better life for me is going to push me to do better. All the stress and hard work that I have put so far makes me not want to give up. What we have in our lives doesn’t matter, what matters is what you do with it. Ralph Waldo Emerson quote, “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us”, always helps me in my life decisions.
